We the human being, according to Enneagram based therapy, have a categorizing brain. According to the theory, the brain is a virtual pattern-recognition machine. Because it this it has the capacity to help us recognize doorknobs regardless of their particular shape. It is this capability of the brain to recognize patterns which allows the body and us as a human being, to survive and adapt to situations.
Now according to Enneagram theory, there are multiple personalities of the human brain and here, we shall explore some of the many personalities and the associated personality traits.
The perfectionist:
the perfectionist is of the believe that one has to be good and right in order to lead a satisfying life. The existence happens in a world that punishes bad behaviour and that pre-eminently demands good behaviour. Some of the characteristic traits of being a perfectionist are as follows:
being conscientious, to be responsible, self controlled and can be self analyzing and very critical at times, self judging and also focused towards improvement.
The giver:
The giver is of the opinion that the world is a world of transactions; a world of giving and taking and in order to live a fulfilling life, one has to be the giver, in order for one to receive, at the other end. These people are loving, caring and are more oriented towards building strong and meaningful relationships.
